Marine carpets are generally manufactured in two different fabric styles. One style is needle punch carpet, which is manufactured as a compressed fiber, to form a solid carpet product, Needle punch carpets can be milled to different thicknesses and weights and have no primary backing. Our Teak/Plush/ Plank ranges are manufactured like conventual household carpets, manufactured with marine grade fibers and UV inhibitors on a carpet loom, and backed with marine grade adhesives and poly woven action backing.

5. How do I clean and maintain marine carpets?

  • Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the quality and appearance of marine carpets. Use a mild detergent or specialized marine carpet cleaner, and scrub gently with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow it to air dry. Always remember to do a small test spot somewhere out of the way, first if you are not sure about the cleaning product you using.

6. Can I install the marine carpet on my own?

  • Yes, it is possible to install marine carpets as a DIY project. However, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and ensure that the surface is properly prepared before installation. We recommend gluing if possible, using outdoor grass adhesive or contact cement. However loose lay and or press stud application is still acheivable and very commonlly used. All our marine carpets can be easily cut with a conventional Stanley knife or scissors, always use care when handling these tools.

7. Is marine carpet resistant to mold and mildew?

Yes. Marine carpet is commonly installed by DIY boat owners, renovators and tradespeople.Depending on the application, marine carpet can be loose-laid, glued down or secured using trims and fittings.
Yes. Some selected marine carpet and artificial grass products are available in wider roll widths.Please contact us if you require a custom size or a larger width than listed online.

Marine carpet is designed to handle wet conditions and allows water to drain through the fibres and backing.

While marine carpet is water-resistant and quick drying, it is not completely waterproof.

Yes. Our marine carpets are UV-stabilised and designed to withstand Australia's harsh outdoor conditions, making them ideal for boats, pontoons, trailers, jetties, and outdoor entertainment areas.

For outdoor installations, we recommend Roberts 6037 Outdoor Adhesive or a suitable Contact Adhesive.

For indoor installations, we recommend UZIN 200 adhesive or a suitable carpet adhesive

For Marine Liner and Automotive Liner applications, we recommend a sprayable contact adhesive.

Many customers use existing fixtures, furniture, hatches, edge trims or carpet weight to keep their carpet securely in position.

Where additional support is required, press studs, double-sided carpet tape or selective adhesive application can be used while still allowing future removal if needed.

Marine carpet can be cleaned using a vacuum, soft brush, fresh water and a mild detergent.For heavier dirt, salt build-up or outdoor debris, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow the carpet to dry completely before storage or covering.
